The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center (SZGMC) has launched the 10th edition of the Junior Culture Guide program as part of the Young Builders, a youth empowerment initiative.

The program gives them access to career opportunities as cultural tour guides and lets them know how to organize these tours inside the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.

The Center publishes a reference book for participants, which includes a detailed explanation of the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, general information about the United Arab Emirates, the traditions and customs of the local community and the aesthetics of Islamic architecture in the Sheikh Zayed. This aims to develop children’s skills, abilities and knowledge of the history and culture of the United Arab Emirates. Apprentices also hone their skills in public speaking and communicating with others, and have the opportunity to learn about different cultures.

The scheme, which launched on Sunday, will run until August 25 and targets students in the 11-14 age group.

The launch of the program, which coincides with International Youth Day, reflects the civilized and humanitarian face of the UAE and the efforts of the SZGMC to instil true Emirati values ​​in the younger generations and develop their knowledge and skills.

Jamal Al Dahmani, director of SZGMC’s worshiper and visitor services department, said the program is based on an early and lifelong learning approach to hone skills and harness the energies of younger generations through a series of training workshops in order to become a well-known junior. cultural tour guide that the Centre’s strategy is to instill the culture of volunteerism in youth, providing young people with the opportunity to volunteer inside and outside the Centre, which helps to develop character, as well as their social skills and their desire to give.

He added that the SZGMC is also working to foster the talents of young people, preparing them for the future, through the Junior Cultural Guides program, which uses a special curriculum, coupled with workshops and training on the field, which develops their capacity to assume the responsibility of a from an early age and become specialists in cultural circuits, and ambassadors of their country.

The total number of graduates from the Junior Culture Guide program reached 389, Al Dahmani said.
