The Supreme Court on Monday refused to consider a petition filed by a tour operator seeking inclusion of its name on the lists of Haj group organizers for Haj-2022. A panel of SA Nazeer and PS Narasimha judges said similar petitions had been dismissed earlier and no relief could be awarded at this stage.
“At this stage it is not possible. How many months are left for Haj now? You should have come a month before. We are not inclined to place an order. We will see next year. Nothing can be done at this stage,” the bench said. The bench then asked the petitioner to withdraw his petition and pursue any other remedies provided by law.
The petitioner then withdrew his plea and the case was dismissed as withdrawn. The higher court was hearing a plea filed by Al Islam Tour Corporations asking for its name to be included in the lists of Haj Group organizers for Haj-2022.
The Advocacy contended that the acceptance of its Haj-2022 Haj Quota Registration and Allocation Application Form was suspended even after their online application and after fulfilling all the eligibility criteria as per the guidelines of the India Haj Committee.
