Pakistan earns $315m from exporting travel services

Pakistan earned $315.030 million from providing different travel services in various countries in the first seven months of the current fiscal year 2021-22.

This shows a growth of 13.67% from the $277.146 million for the same services provided in the corresponding period of the last fiscal year 2020-21, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported.

During the month under review, personal travel services increased by 13.71%, from $276.006 million last year to $313.840 million in July-January 2021-22.

Among these personal services, exports of health-related expenditures increased by 72.73% while education-related expenditures increased by 0.15%. In addition, other personal services saw an increase of 13.83 percent.

Meanwhile, exports of business services also increased by 4.39 percent, from $1.140 million to $1.190 million, PBS data showed.

It is pertinent to mention here that the country’s service exports witnessed an increase of 18.82% in the first seven months of the current financial year (2021-22) compared to the corresponding period last year. , Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported.

Services exports in July-January (2021-22) were recorded at $3,944.91 million compared to exports of $3,320.17 million in July-January (2020-21), a growth of 18 .82%. Imports also increased by 39.49% from $4,426.30 million last year to $6,174.42 million during the period under review.
