Minister of Tourism calls on the private sector to set reasonable prices for tourist packages

As the Sea Festival resumes in Preah Sihanouk later this year, Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism, called on the private sector to set up reasonable and affordable tour packages for tourists aimed at attracting domestic and international visitors.

He made the call during a meeting held on the afternoon of June 27 in a hybrid format with the participation of Kuoch Chamroeun, Governor of Preah Sihanouk, Mithona Phouthang, Governor of Koh Kong, and many other concerned officials. .

During the meeting, Minister Khon expressed his belief that affordable and flexible tour rates will encourage tourists to join the upcoming festival.

The 9th Festival of the Sea will be organized from December 9 to 11 in Preah Sihanouk, at the same time as the 2022 World Congress of the Club of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World (World-Bays Club).

Since 2011, Cambodia has organized the Festival of the Sea in turn in the four coastal provinces of the country of Preah Sihanouk, Kep, Koh Kong and Kampot. It has been postponed for the past two years to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.
