Kozhikode: In a unique initiative, KSRTC has set up organized trips exclusively for women on International Women’s Day. In this context, various organizations or groups of women can benefit from the services from March 8 to 13. KSRTC will provide services to tourist places according to the needs of the groups. The project is supported by the Tourism Budget Unit recently set up by the KSRTC.

We learn that 56 trips are planned from the 14 districts. One-day and two-day trips can be booked as needed. Drivers will be on duty on all routes. In addition, the cooperation of the Forestry Department will be ensured for security. Food is included in the package.

Kozhikode district has received the highest number of reservations so far. District tour packages are arranged from Thamarassery Depot. The depot will conduct services to Thusharagiri, Nelliampathi and Munnar.

In addition, 12 reservations have been received from Malappuram. Trips to Munnar, Malakappara, Wayanad and Kakkayamdam are available from here.

Apart from these, there are Perinthalmanna-Munnar, Nilambur-Munnar, Harippad-Rosemala-Paalaruvi, Mavelikkara-Monroe Island, Thiruvalla-Malakappara and Kannur-Wayanad trips, said Budget Tourism Cell Coordinator Prasanth.

It is also the first time that a state public transportation system has organized a special Women’s Day tour.
